ARE YOU A PROFESSIONAL? CAN YOU FACILITATE A WORKSHOP?

VOLUNTEER WITH US!

Facilitation is a process which makes learning and sharing together as a group easy. The difference between facilitation and teaching or training is that the role of a facilitator is not to transfer knowledge to a group as an ‘expert’; instead facilitators aim to support a group to share knowledge and ideas and work effectively together. The group is the ‘expert’.

This volunteer opportunity enables you to share your expertise with participants and contribute in extremely high-impact ways to the growth and development of our clients' lives. As a volunteer in these transformational programs, you will facilitate online workshops on topics revolving around settlement challenges that trigger mental health issues such as:

  • Anti Black and Anti African racism
  • Mental health challenges associated with settlement challenges
  • Family challenges associated with im/migration and settlement
  • Spousal sponsorship and and domestic violence
  • Separation and Divorce
  • Building Credit
  • How to invest and grow in Canada
  • Immigration/refugee claim
  • Accessing reliable information on immigration processes
  • Finding a job
  • homesickness, isolation and loneliness
  • Securing affordable housing
  • Learning a new language (English/French)
  • Accessing government services, social programs, and benefits
  • Resources available in the community
  • Getting used to the weather (extreme cold/heat)
  • Learning about life in Canada (culture and history)
  • Getting a Driver’s License, Health Card, Social Insurance Number, provincial ID
  • Navigating the education system in Canada
  • Understanding diversity, and becoming culturally sensitive
  • Building support networks and social connections.
